Wax Foundations: Intro to Jewelry Carving

📚 Course Overview

In this 6-hour hands-on course, students will explore the foundations of jewelry wax carving — from tools and techniques to creative design and casting preparation. By the end of the course, students will have completed two wax models—one guided project and one original design—both ready to be cast in metal.

🛠️ Project

• Students will begin by working on a shared introductory project to learn the essential techniques of wax carving step-by-step. Once they’ve built a solid foundation, each student will move on to design and carve their own piece (usually a ring). This second project will be developed in collaboration with the instructor to match the student's personal style and skill level.
• Optional: Have your favorite model cast in sterling silver or gold (casting fee not included, calculated by wax weight and paid at the studio)
